Prop restrictions explained – joining the waiting line at a full table

Posted on September 4, 2009

Poker props are usually not allowed to join a queue waiting for a seat to free up at a full table. This one is kind of self explanatory if you’re in the know about what a poker prop’s role should be. The prop is getting paid to generate action, not to take advantage of already existing action. As such, you’ll have to leave full tables alone and open up a new table, so regular players get even more options to choose from.

If you do break this rule, you’re likely to earn a warning from the shift manger or a downright penalty (which usually consists in the withholding of your prop payment).

While prop restrictions will vary wildly from one poker room to another, this rule seems to be a universally implemented and enforced one.
