Prop restrictions explained: prop bonus ineligibility
Posted on October 3, 2009As a poker prop, more often than not, you won't be allowed to take advantage of any of the promotions offered by the prop room. That usually includes the sign up bonus too. Being shut out of some promotions is something would be props could probably live with. The loss of the sign-up bonus though is something extremely painful for most people. Why do you have to give your bonus up when you become a prop? Simple. The sign-up bonus is a limited time rakeback deal offered to all newly signed-up players. Since you're already getting more than your fair share of rakeback, getting some more on top of it is kind of improper not to mention totally unfair towards the other players at the site. Some poker rooms do offer their props bonuses and access to promotions too, though in such cases the prop deal is usually a smaller percentage one.
