The importance of regular player traffic for poker props
Posted on October 5, 2009When you’re about to join an online poker room as a poker prop, there are a set of factors you should add to your check-list. The regular (non-prop) traffic that the room gets should be near the top of your check-list.
Your primary role as a prop player is to provide action for regular players. Playing against other props is not just counter productive for the poker room, it’s also subject to prop restrictions.
To this end, you’re best off picking a poker room which accepts US traffic too. While European only poker rooms can offer good traffic too, obviously, a room which accepts US players in addition to European ones has a better chance of taking off sooner.
As a general rule though, when propping, you should prepare yourself for scarce traffic and short handed tables. This doesn’t mean however that all prop rooms are short on players. Some of the prop deals offered on this very site are from well established and trafficked sites.
