The shift manager’s job
Posted on October 29, 2009Shift managers are not only there to see who’s propping and who’s not. The reason you have to check in with them when you start a poker propping session is that they need to know who’s propping so that they can keep track of you. The Shift manager is kind of like a “big brother” for poker props. He keeps an eye on the big picture and if more action is needed at certain tables, he will direct the props there. So yes, the shift manager will sometimes tell you where to play, although this is not standard practice and most of the time poker props won’t even know he’s there watching them.
As a poker prop, you should follow the shift manager’s indications under all circumstances.
